The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog's back. Now is the
time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.
The disk you borrowed from the library contains data that is
stored electromagnetically. Consequently, it is extremely
vulnerable. Take care of the library's diskette. You are
responsible for it. Study your PC manuals regarding the care
and handling of diskettes. And, heed the following
guidelines. Please transport the diskette to and from the
library with utmost care. Do not bend or crush the diskette.
Transport it in a hard plastic carrying case. If your
library doesn't provide you with one, use your own. The
quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog's back. Now is the
time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.
Keep the diskette away from magnetic fields and metal
detectors. Don't let the diskette get colder than 55 degrees
or warmer than 90 degrees Fahrenheit. If it gets too cold or
warm, let it come to room temperature before inserting it
into your computer. Never deposit the diskette in a book
drop. The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog's back. Now
is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their
country. Keep the library's diskette out of harm's way
Store the diskette in its protective envelope in a vertical
or horizontal position. Don't set anything (including a
small pamphlet) on top of the diskette. Keep the diskette in
a dust-free environment. A speck of dust can crash a
program. Don't smoke or keep lit cigarettes near the
diskette. Smoke particles are larger and more damaging than
dust particles. Do not touch the exposed recording surfaces
of the diskette. Never touch any part of the diskette with
dirty or greasy fingers. Don't eat or drink, or set food or
beverages near the diskette. The quick brown fox jumps over
a lazy dog's back. Now is the time for all good men to come
to the aid of their country. Keep the diskettes away from
pets and any person who could inadvertently damage it. Never
use a bent or otherwise damaged diskette. It could harm your
disk drives. Point out the defect to your librarian when you
return the diskette. Don't insert a diskette into or remove
a diskette from a disk drive when the drive's red light is
on. This would damage the diskette and possibly your disk
drive as well. Please use the library's diskette only for
copying (see the next section). Never use it to run programs
catalog. Otherwise, you may permanently damage the diskette.
